Imagen.io are digital asset management service. In November 2021 I was tasked with defining how version control would fit into the PRO & GO platforms.

Historically, Imagen has been the home for users final assets. And because of this we haven’t needed version control. Because we had the final version ... However, version control is seen as an integral part of DAM, with almost every competitor offering some kind of versioning ability, Imagen is falling behind.

Imagen users currently have dedicated solutions for their production versioning needs and don’t associate this phase with Imagen.

Production versions are collaborative, fleeting and less protected.

Results

- Since release of Imagen version control over 1 petabyte of versions have been created across their media clients.
- Facilitation of sale to key sports media client
- New Standard of working on roadmap features
- Hiring a product manager and UX designer to continue process
